Although fonts available online generally go through various tests and are visually well-balanced, sometimes we might feel that something’s off when typing certain words. Even though the default font settings are usually fine, there are times when you want to make slight adjustments for a more polished appearance. Here’s an easy way to do that, whether you're using Windows or Mac.

For Windows:
- Select the text you want to adjust.
- Press Ctrl + T to open the Character panel.
- In the Character panel, click the dropdown menu under Kerning.
- Select Optical.
With this setting, the font will automatically adjust, making the text look more balanced. Keep in mind that while this works well with many fonts, not all fonts will look better with this setting. In some cases, the default setting may actually look better. So, use this adjustment according to your needs.
For Mac:
- Select the text you want to adjust.
- Press Command + T to open the Character panel.
- In the Character panel, click the dropdown menu under Kerning.
- Select Optical.
Just like on Windows, make sure to evaluate whether the font you’ve chosen looks better with the default or optical setting.

With this simple adjustment, you can achieve a cleaner, more balanced font appearance on both Windows and Mac. Hope these tips help you out!
